The latest episode of Shark Tank India season 4 showcased Ayush Chauhan, founder of Dacby Technologies, pitching his deal in front of the ace Sharks. In one of the segments in the show, he was found seeking Rs 75 lakh for 2.2% equity. Meanwhile, he also bravely talked about his financial struggles while running his business, which reminded Namita Thapar of Ritesh Agarwal’s initial days.
A promo video was shared on the official Instagram handle of Sony TV and Shark Tank India, featuring Ayush Chauhan pitching his deal in the 11th episode of the business reality show. He sought an offer of Rs. 75 lakh for 2.2% equity for his company valued at Rs. 34.09 crore. His pitch was received differently by the Sharks present over there, including Anupam Mittal, Ritesh Agarwal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, and Peyush Bansal.
Soon after listening to Ayush’s offer, a few of the Sharks were seen praising his determination. However, Aman Gupta, the CMO of boAt Lifestyle, questioned the pitcher’s business choices.
Ayush even shared his financial struggles with the Sharks. And his honest revelation that he has only Rs 4,000 – Rs 5,000 in his account currently left them in shock. The pitcher further added that he still takes pocket money from his parents. To this, Namita Thapar pointed towards Ritesh Agarwal and mentioned, “He reminds me of you, Ritesh.”
Ritesh also didn’t deny Namita’s claims and further reflected on his initial days in the business sector. He said, “Like Namita said, you do remind me of myself. I had no place to stay.”
Despite all this, Ayush couldn’t secure a deal on Shark Tank India 4. However, he received a Rs 10 lakh grant for personal use from Ritesh. The CEO of OYO Rooms continued, “I am out of this deal. Your personal situation looks a bit difficult. In our family office, we have a fellowship, where we offer a grant, and we don’t take any equity. We will offer you a Rs. 10 lakh grant. You don’t use it in your company. You use it to better your life and I know you will do better in business.”
Meanwhile, Namita and other Sharks present over there praised Ayush’s determination. But Aman criticised his choices and called him “inexperienced”. He said, “My view is different. You are from IIT, you left it, galti ki. You made your friends quit, you made a mistake. You took money from your dad, you made a mistake. You took money from investors, you made a mistake. You are not a good entrepreneur. You are very raw. You are not cut out for business.”
The promo video was shared with the caption that read, “This is not just a story of entrepreneurship; it’s a story of resilience. Watch the courageous journey of DACBY’s founder now on Shark Tank India Season 4, only on Sony LIV!”
