This is the moment a Ring doorbell captured a suspicious hooded man trying to coax a family’s pet cat away just moments before the moggy went missing.
Amy Mawson watched on in horror as the male was seen outside her south London home in Mitcham approaching 15-year-old Bailey.
The short 22-second clip shows a man with his hood up carrying a bulky rucksack over his shoulders tiptoeing towards the cat.
He then crouches down in front of the bins and appears to be trying to coax ‘frail’ Bailey out from beside some parked cars in the driveway.
Amy said the chilling footage left her feeling ‘sick to her stomach’ which appears to have captured Bailey’s last movements before she went missing at around 6pm on February 24.
‘It’s devastating happening right outside my own house and caught on Ring doorbell,’ a distraught Amy said.
‘Bailey is 15 years old and very frail. I’m really concerned. We’re all heartbroken.’
Amy, of Longfield Drive, Mitcham, also told NeedToKnow: ‘I’m scared to let my other two out now.

‘And also there are a lot of cats in this area I’m worried about.’
Bailey is a Manx cat with black and grey stripes and lighter grey underbelly and paws. He has no tail, just a little stub and brown patches near his eyes.

Last November, Anabela and Joseph Cunha, also of Mitcham, were reunited with their cat which was found whimpering in a garden two-and-a-half miles away after being taken from their driveway five days prior.
The couple were left horrified after seeing the man walking away with their cat Simba screaming in agony and distress.
The ginger and white cat, six, was stolen from outside their home and the couple quickly alerted the police.
Footage showed the thief picking up Simba, a former stray, while trying to restrain him by putting the cat between his legs.
The cawas found in a garden two-and-a-half miles away after the homeowner heard him whimpering and brought him in.
