Australia is currently chasing 162 runs and stands at 71/3 at lunch on Day 3 of the fifth Test match between India and Australia.
Prasidh Krishna’s impressive performance claiming three wickets in his initial spell has been crucial in keeping India competitive in the game especially in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. However, Australia currently holds the advantage with Travis Head and Usman Khawaja at the crease.
Scott Boland achieved a remarkable feat by taking ten wickets including those of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah on Day 3, bringing an end to India’s innings at 157 runs. This set a target of 162 runs for Australia. Pat Cummins also made significant contributions by dismissing Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja in the first session. Jadeja’s dismissal, caught behind by Alex Carey off Cummins’ bowling, was a setback for India as he departed after scoring 13 runs.
