‘Improvement necessary’ at takeaway that serves pizzas and kebabs

The Flaming Hut on Middleton Road in Banbury was visited by Cherwell District Council’s Environmental Health team on Thursday, November 21.
Inspectors were less than impressed, awarding the business a lowly two-out-of-fie food hygiene rating and stating that “improvement [was] necessary”.
One of the more pressing issues was both the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building which also required “improvement”.

This includes having an appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene.
The Flaming Hut’s hygienic handling of food was also a problem with the inspector suggesting that improvement was also “necessary” in this regard.
This criteria refers to the preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage of the food sold and served at the site.
Despite the other issues, the takeaway’s management of food safety was deemed to be “generally satisfactory”.
