Excise Police Seize 4 Kg Ganja, Arrest Four in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: State excise police arrested four persons and seized a total of about 4 kg of ganja in separate incidents here on Saturday. At Jubilee Hills, the excise police arrested G. Rajendra of Bachupally and his associate Mohammed Feroz of Assam while they were selling the contraband and seized 1.7 kg dry ganja from them.

They had procured the ganja from one Renu Devi of Sangareddy and the excise police were on the look-out for her, said Jubilee Hills excise sub-inspector M. Bhramachari.

Elsewhere, the Ghatkesar excise police arrested Gopi of Kurnool and Ramawat Upender of Devarkonda while they were selling ganja at Medipally and seized 1.053 kg ganja from their possession, excise special task force (STF) circle inspector Biksha Reddy said.

In a separate case, the Nanakramguda excise STF arrested one Ramdan and seized 1.255 kg marijuana from him, STF circle inspector Nagaraju said.

GHMC Employee Commits Suicide After Domestic Quarrel

Hyderabad: A 56-year-old GHMC employee, V. Dhobi Bai, died by suicide at her house in RN Nagar on Friday night after a domestic quarrel, Falaknuma police said on Saturday. Police said she had returned late in an inebriated condition which triggered a quarrel with her husband V. Punya for consuming toddy and coming home late. She attempted suicide later in the night and was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital where she died during treatment, police said. The couple was married 31 years ago and have three children.
